AS FINALIDADES DA EDUCAÇÃO E AS POLÍTICAS EDUCACIONAIS NO CONTEXTO CONTEMPORÂNEO

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the purposes of education, considering its relationships with educational policies, economic influences and the role of the teacher in a curriculum conditioned by global demands. The research, of a bibliographic nature, investigates how international organizations promote a hegemonic vision of education focused on economic interests. The central research question is: what are the implications of the purposes of education in the construction of educational policies and teaching performance? The study is based on the theoretical contributions of Lenoir (2012; 2013), Libâneo (2012) and Lessard (2021), who discuss the duality of public schools, the influence of school educational purposes and educational policies that are present in the contemporary context. The study reveals the importance of a critical, reflective and propositional approach to understanding what refers to the educational purposes of school education, in order to guarantee, based on educational policies, training for the intellectual, social and cultural development of students who are largely attending Brazilian public schools.
