With this, the current study seeks to analyze the behavior of concrete from the incorporation of asphalt paving waste. Such waste is produced on a large scale through the need to excavate paved streets and roads, which come from maintenance of asphalt paving or even carrying out infrastructure works. From the collection of this material, the asphalt pavement blocks were crushed into a more granular material, which, after being sieved, was used in the composition of the concrete, replacing the coarse aggregate. Workability and resistance to axial compression were evaluated, and these tests were carried out in the construction materials laboratory of Faculdade de Inhumas - FacMais. It was attested that with the increase in the concentration of asphalt residue in the mass, there was a decrease in the workability and consequently the resistance of the concrete. However, this replacement becomes viable in the production of concrete artifacts that do not require great resistance, considering that there will be an ecological benefit with the reuse of asphalt material, in addition to reducing the search for raw material from the crushing of rocks, a method that causes lasting damage to natural resources.
Ingred Horrana Rocha Vieira, Déborah Vilas Boas dos Passos Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/183 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 ENDOCRINE DISORDERS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT: BIBLIOGRAPHIC REVIEW https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/184
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a hospital sector where serious patients with or without hemodynamic instability remain in need of 24-hour uninterrupted health care by a diverse team of health professionals. Several studies report that 13 to 25% of patients admitted to the ICU have a previous diagnosis of DM. Diabetics are occasionally admitted to the ICU for treatment of an acute process of hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmolar state, however, many diabetics are admitted to these units for other comorbidities, such as infection. Objective: To describe the characteristics of patients with endocrine disorders admitted to the intensive care unit. Method: 330 texts were found, of which 218 were in the LILACS database and 112 in the SCIELO database. After previous reading, 35 texts were selected in LILACS database and 20 in SCIELO. An exploratory reading of the publications allowed to select 10 articles, 7 of the LILACS database and 3 of the SCIELO database. Outcome: Thus some observational studies and interventional studies suggest that intensive glycemic control may reduce mortality within intensive care units. Hyperglycemia is a common alteration in critically ill patients and the physiological response to trauma is attributed.
Danyelle Oliveira Fonte Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/184 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 COMPLEMENT SYSTEM ASSOCIATED WITH ATYPICAL HEMOLYTIC UREMIC SYNDROME https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/185
The Complement System (CS) is made up of an enzymatic “cascade” that helps defend against infections, an essential mechanism in innate immunity that helps in the rapid recognition and elimination of pathogens. Deficiencies in this regulation and/or activation of the SC can cause diseases and syndromes, whether of genetic or acquired origin. Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) is a genetic disease, in which there is an alteration in the proteins that regulate the complement system, leading to the destruction of endothelial cells, erythrocytes and leukocytes. The objective is to address the importance of the complement system, its regulation and the relationship between protein deficiency that can cause genetic diseases such as atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome. The proteins most related to aHUS are factor H, I and CD46, classified as SC regulatory proteins, which protect host cells from uncontrolled complement activation. Another important protein is thrombomodulin, an endothelial glycoprotein that plays an important role in the coagulation cascade. The clinical characteristics occur mainly in children, and in more severe cases kidney transplantation may occur, and even then, transplant rejection may occur. The main medication used for treatment is eculizumab. It was possible to demonstrate that aHUS is directly linked to deficiencies in complement system proteins and, as it is rare, there is still no specific treatment and the diagnosis is still non-specific.
Isac Cardoso dos Santos Isac Cardoso dos Santos, Fábio Castro Ferreira, Murilo Barros-Silveira, Marcela Massaro Ribeiro da Silva Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/185 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 PHARMACEUTICAL CARE AT MONKEYPOX - AN INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/186
This article aims to describe pharmaceutical care for Mpox, a disease that broke out in the year 2022. An integrative literature review was carried out in different databases with the association of the following descriptors: Monkeypox; Pharmaceutical care; Mpox, Pharmaceuticals, searching for studies published between 1997 and 2023. During the Mpox outbreak, together with the multidisciplinary team, the Pharmacist played a fundamental role, being directly linked to the rational use of medicines, therapeutic conciliation, review of pharmacotherapy, and research of specific medicines and vaccines for Mpox. The work of this professional in the current scenario of disinformation, considers the pharmacist as a propagator of information in health promotion and innovative discoveries, in addition to being directly connected to the population, which enhances care. It was possible to observe the importance of the pharmacist inserted in the whole process, but it is also noted the little knowledge of the pharmacist's performance because the professional is being inserted little by little in the middle.
Alicia Diana Gonçalves dos Santos, Roberta Albino Gonçalves Ferreira Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/186 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 GENITOURINARY MALFORMATIONS AND NURSING CARE IN THE NEONATAL AND PEDIATRIC UNIT: BIBLIOGRAPHIC REVIEW https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/187
Congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract comprise a wide spectrum of malformations, so the origin and development of these are complex and diverse. Thus, malformed newborns require specific and individualized care and attention from nursing professionals, planning evidence-based nursing care. Objective: to carry out a bibliographic survey of cases of genitourinary malformations most prevalent in the neonatal and pediatric unit in the last 5 years, as well as the nursing care provided to these patients. Materials and Methods: an exploratory, bibliographic study with integrative analysis, qualitative literature available in LILACS, SCIELO and MEDLINE databases. Results: After an exploratory reading of the publications, it was possible to select 12 articles, 8 from the LILACS database and 4 from the MEDLINE database. Final considerations: based on the studies found, nursing professionals need to implement systematized care to improve the prognosis of malformed newborns, since care, especially those performed during the first 24 hours of life, may have repercussions in the child's future life. It is hoped that this research contributes to the knowledge about genitourinary malformations and their possible causes so that there can be effective assistance and the recognition of the problem, aiming at the planning of policies of assistance and prevention.
Danyelle Oliveira Fonte, Mônica Santos Amaral Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/187 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 HIGHER EDUCATION AND SUBJECTIVATION IN THE NEOLIBERAL CONTEXT: THOUGHTS ON THE FINANCIALIZATION OF THE FORMATIVE PROCESS https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/188
This article explores transformations in Brazilian educational institutions, particularly within the Federal Colleges, through the lens of Gilles Deleuze's theory of control societies. Analyzing the transition from disciplinary society to control society, we discuss how universities respond to the demands of a globalized and technologically advanced world. We focus on the reconfiguration of the role of universities in cognitive and biopolitical capitalism, where research and innovation become central. We examine the privatization of universities not merely as a transfer of management but as part of a broader process that aligns higher education with the neoliberal market logic. University autonomy, in particular, is analyzed as a strategic device that facilitates the internalization of this neoliberal rationality. The study contributes to a critical understanding of the current dynamics in educational institutions, highlighting the emergence of a model of subjectivity based on competition and debt.
Lucio Flávio de Santana Gimenes Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/188 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 ACCESSIBILITY ANALYSIS AT SANTA ROSA STATE COLLEGE: case study https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/190
Despite being present throughout human history, accessibility has not always been taken into account in architectural projects. It is common knowledge that, since the first human groups, people with disabilities have been excluded from participating in society, and it was only with the aftermath of the Second Civil War that the need arose to find ways to reintegrate civilians and military personnel who had returned with sequelae from the conflict into society. The aim of this study was to verify accessibility in a school in the city of Santa Rosa de Goiás and how it may or may not become a facilitating tool. This research was carried out through a case study in which the accessibility conditions of this school unit were analyzed in accordance with NBR 9050. Analyses of accessibility become a tool for school inclusion and ensure possible conditions that enable and promote access. In fact, planning with the situations people face when accessing the places, they go to in mind is necessary to facilitate the implementation of accessibility projects. Therefore, the school inclusion proposal advocates that the educational environment should adapt to the needs of users, rather than adapting to the structures of the place of study, but if the environment is not prepared to cater for everyone, it is this place that becomes deficient.
Júlio Anderson Rosa Lisboa Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/190 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 JURIDICAL PSYCHOLOGY IN CONTEMPORANEITY: CONTRIBUTIONS AND CHALLENGES https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/191
The theme of this text refers to the contributions and contemporary challenges of Legal Psychology. This work aims to collect and classify pharmaceutical waste from two university communities in Goiás. Two collection points were designated for the collection of medicines in two different locations: FaculdadeMais (FacMais) in Inhumas (GO) and, FacMais in Palmeiras de Goiás (GO). 268 medicines were collected in these institutions, 164 medicines in Inhumas (GO), classified into 35 different pharmacological classes, and 104 in Palmeiras de Goiás (GO), which make up 17 different classes. Most medicines collected in Inhumas were antifungal medicines 28 (18%), antiallergic medicines 22 (14%), antianemic medicines 23 (14%), multivitamins 11 (7%), medicines that act on the central nervous system 7 (4%), antimicrobials and antibiotics 3 (2%), the majority had expired dates 121 (74%). Regarding the medications obtained from the collection point available at Faculdade Mais de Palmeiras (GO), the majority were hormonal contraceptives 16 (15%), antihypertensives 14 (13%), and analgesics/anti-inflammatories/corticoids 12 (12 %). The study revealed a large quantity of medicines stored at home, which can contribute to environmental contamination and affect aquatic life. These results draw attention to the lack of pharmaceutical professionals in places such as Basic Health Units (UBS) and small and medium-sized pharmacies, which could mitigate negative environmental and public health impacts.
Lucas Ferreira Lino, Ricardo José da Silva, Bruno Vinicius Diniz e Silva Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/194 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 THE BASIC EDUCATION MOVEMENT IN GOIÁS (MEB) AND THE TRAINING OF MONITORS FOR THE LITERACY OF PEASANTS IN GOIÁS IN THE 1960s https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/195
Literacy has always been a bottleneck in Brazilian education, however when it comes to adult literacy the difficulties are even greater. The Basic Education Movement (MEB) implemented an important peasant literacy project, applying Paulo Freire's literacy method, and achieved great success. This research aims to analyze the training of monitors for peasant literacy in Goiás in the 1960s. The methodology used is bibliographical research. The results point to an innovation in the methodology for training monitors, who were also local peasants. It is concluded that the training of monitors by MEB had great relevance in obtaining excellent results in the literacy process of Goiás peasants in the 1960s, and that the same occurred thanks to the innovative character through the applicability of Paulo Freire's literacy method in teacher training and literacy training for peasant youth and adults, which is why this experience should be seen as an example to be followed in future Brazilian educational policies.
Elisabeth Maria de Fátima Borges, Daniel Junior de Oliveira Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/195 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 THE ACTIONS OF AN PREVENTIVE PERSONAL DEPARTMENT: REFLECTIONS IN LABOR LIABILITIES https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/196
The article focused on the routines of the labor area and it’s consequences, took into consideration the number of labor claims as a growing due to the number of cases, becoming a factor to be observed by companies, whereas that, a labor claim filed by the its employer, with positive results for the complaining part of the process, the company assumes an obligation to accomplish the immediate payments and with high amounts due to fees and monetary corrections, causing a significant impact on the company's financial sector, all this for non-compliance with the legislation in the course of working relationships. It is estimated that around 5 million Latin Americans are infected. Classic transmission occurs during the bite of the kissing bug which, when defecating, eliminates infective forms of the protozoan along with the feces. Other forms of transmission occur through ingestion of food contaminated by the parasite, through blood transfusion and transplacental transmission. The aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence of Chagas disease in patients treated at the PUC GO Clinical Laboratory (LAC-PUC Goiás). A documentary survey was carried out on patients who underwent serology for Chagas disease, in 2018, at LAC PUC Goiás. Of the 253 patients who underwent serology for Chagas disease, 86.6% (219/ 253) presented a negative result (non-reactive) and 13.4% (34/253) positive (reactive) for the disease. The most affected age group among serum-reactive patients was between 60 and 69 years old (29.5%). No significant difference was observed between the gender. After analyzing the data, a prevalence of Chagas disease was found to be 13.4% of patients treated at the school laboratory. Even though the number of cases is relatively low compared to other studies, a plan to deal with the problem is necessary to reduce the occurrence of cases, considering the possibility of chronicity of the disease, requiring specialized assistance for long periods, causing a burden on the Health System and greater human suffering.
Lorrayne Lopes Cardoso, Rafaela Nascimento Rodrigues, Murilo Barros-Silveira, Fábio Castro Ferreira, Iasmim Ribeiro da Costa Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/197 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700 DIGITAL GAMES IN HIGH SCHOOL: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/198
Digital games are gaining more space in contemporary society, especially in schools which seek to meet the new educational demand. Faced with this reality, the present study brings a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) about the use of digital games with the application aimed at High School students. Six databases were used to obtain RSL studies, namely: Scielo, PubMed, Scopus, Springer, APA Psycnet, and IEEE. According to the results obtained, it was noticed that the application of digital games to high school students is still an unexplored field, and there is a need for more research and studies in this field. In the articles that were analyzed in this RSL, it was observed that all report that there is great potential in digital games, in which they can lead to high school students in terms of engagement, participation, and involvement in their learning process in different disciplines of the school grade, in addition to facilitating cognitive learning and affecting students emotionally, connecting them to real life. This RSL proposed, through the bases, to answer the question: do students who use digital games in their learning, use consciousness, skills, and metacognitive strategies? Using the StArt Tool (State of the Art through Systematic Review), 33 articles were extracted and went through the identification, inclusion, exclusion, selection, and quality processes to reach the number of 3 articles that met the adopted criteria.
Nelson da Silva Nunes, Fernando Silvio Cavalcante Pimentel, Beatriz Martins de Souza, Crislayne dos Santos Moura, Emily Lins Casado de Sousa, Viviane Santos de Oliveira, Yasmin Bella de Oliveira Calheiros Copyright (c) 2024 Centro Universitário Mais - Unimais https://revistas.facmais.edu.br/index.php/revistacientificafacmais/article/view/198 Thu, 23 May 2024 00:00:00 -0700
