CONTEMPORANEIDADES DA INDÚSTRIA CULTURAL PARA A SEMIFORMAÇÃO E MANIPULAÇÃO DAS MASSAS

Cultural industry, Semiformation, Television, Alienation, ConsumptionAbstract
Article resulting from critical reflections, focused on the debate of the consequences of the influence of the cultural industry, brought to contemporary times as the main strategy for maintaining power and the semi-formation of the masses. It identifies consumption, television and religion as facets that supply the dominant structure, manipulates the conscience and alienates the individual, making him a “subjected subject” to the capitalist production system, maintained by a bourgeoisie renewedly equipped by technology. It is based on the critical thinking of Adorno and Horkheimer, discussed by Duarte (2008), Cohn (1994), Chaves (2015), among others. It uses as a methodology, the appropriation of themes read and developed in Culture, Art and Education classes. It concludes by the valorization and practice of science, against religious alienation and the perverse schematization of the cultural industry, which causes unemployment and sickens society, making it hostage to consumption, which benefits ultra-liberal capitalist exploitation.
