This article explores transformations in Brazilian educational institutions, particularly within the Federal Colleges, through the lens of Gilles Deleuze's theory of control societies. Analyzing the transition from disciplinary society to control society, we discuss how universities respond to the demands of a globalized and technologically advanced world. We focus on the reconfiguration of the role of universities in cognitive and biopolitical capitalism, where research and innovation become central. We examine the privatization of universities not merely as a transfer of management but as part of a broader process that aligns higher education with the neoliberal market logic. University autonomy, in particular, is analyzed as a strategic device that facilitates the internalization of this neoliberal rationality. The study contributes to a critical understanding of the current dynamics in educational institutions, highlighting the emergence of a model of subjectivity based on competition and debt.
