PHARMACEUTICAL CARE AT MONKEYPOX - AN INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

This article aims to describe pharmaceutical care for Mpox, a disease that broke out in the year 2022. An integrative literature review was carried out in different databases with the association of the following descriptors: Monkeypox; Pharmaceutical care; Mpox, Pharmaceuticals, searching for studies published between 1997 and 2023. During the Mpox outbreak, together with the multidisciplinary team, the Pharmacist played a fundamental role, being directly linked to the rational use of medicines, therapeutic conciliation, review of pharmacotherapy, and research of specific medicines and vaccines for Mpox. The work of this professional in the current scenario of disinformation, considers the pharmacist as a propagator of information in health promotion and innovative discoveries, in addition to being directly connected to the population, which enhances care. It was possible to observe the importance of the pharmacist inserted in the whole process, but it is also noted the little knowledge of the pharmacist's performance because the professional is being inserted little by little in the middle.
