In this article, the general objective was to analyze, through a narrative literature review, the emotional aspects of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) in view of the limitations of its diagnosis. In view of the specific objectives, to understand, if there are in the literature, studies that bring about the benefits of psychotherapy in the treatment of Lupus; to identify the reality and the main emotional confrontations experienced by patients diagnosed with SLE; and to discuss the influence of the onset and evolution of SLE on the psychological aspects of SLE patients. It was recognized that Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) presents several clinical manifestations, including neuropsychiatric ones, of particular interest for this article. Its etiology is still unclear, it has a multifactorial origin involving genetic, hormonal, environmental, infectious factors and psychological stress. Despite the advances already made, in Brazil there is still a lack of treatments and professionals specialized in rheumatology so that the manifestation of the disease and the treatment can be identified in the multidisciplinary team, identifying that there is a long way to go in search of improvements for this disease. certain pathology. In addition to psychosocial factors the comorbidity between depression, psychosis, mood disorder, seizure and headache. It was found that the treatment must be individualized and the care personalized, as the organs and/or systems affected, the degree of severity affected, the events of the subject and their perception of the disease must be taken into account.
