The present work discusses the role of Higher Education Institutions regarding the presentation of possible areas of action, which can awaken vocations and/or demystify possible previously formed conceptions, but which were conceived under the pressure imposed by the need of having this choice well defined at the end of high school. We showed that Basic Education schools, commonly, prioritize the approach of curricular components and the preparation of students for entrance exams, leaving aside reception, moments of reflection about vocations and presentation of possible areas of action. This practice contributes to situations such as, for example, a feeling of excessive responsibility when having to define the future profession, which needs to please the family and guarantee financial success, overlapping with a possible vocation that has not yet been manifested. Considering that the process of choosing an undergraduate course coincides with adolescence, a phase of intense changes and conflicts, we highlight the importance of connecting students with the environment they will find in Higher Education. Therefore, this work aims to present a proposal that aims to provide opportunities for students who are completing high school, moments of interaction with the learning spaces of Higher Education Institutions, in addition to discussions about Microbiology. Students will have the opportunity to get to know the classrooms, laboratories and living environments, thus being able to arouse interest in the areas offered by the Higher Education Institutions and in the experience that awaits them in graduation.
